“In this room, I wanted to honor my heritage and at the same time create a very 21st century room”.  says Antonio Martins, interior designer, about the master bedroom he projected for the 2014 San Francisco Decorator Showcase

The bedroom is enchanting – it takes your breath away and gives you air in the same time. The combination of antique and modern elements + the color combo white-blue equals perfect. But why this is working so good?

Chairs in the bedroom –  give the space a different voice. It’s like a place to hide away from the more social areas of the house.

Feature walls –  The trick with any feature wall is to not let it be the only feature, you absolutely have to add other focal points like a large mirror or plants to further intrigue otherwise it can feel rather contrived. In this case the vintage wooden bed is the second focal point and then comes the green plant in front of the maxi blue-white azulejos.

Artwork – Gives a stylish touch to every bedroom. An advise – go Big! Like the statue or the big maritime ropes ”falling” from the ceiling.
