Domes Zeen Chania in Crete ( previously Casa Cook Chania ) is a family-friendly boutique beach hotel situated on a pristine stretch of Cretan coast.
Following the recent events surrounding the Thomas Cook Company, many of the chain’s hotels were aquired by another companies. Two of the award-winning Casa Cook Hotels in Ibiza and Kos are now part of OKU Hotels. Meanwhile, Casa Cook Chania is now Domes Zeen and is part of The Luxury Collection by Marriott.
Located in Chania, in the northwest corner of Crete, Domes Zeen offers laidback luxury with interior design that is as equally appealing to those with kids as without. Only a hop away from Chania’s old town with its Venetian, Egyptian and Ottoman influences, the hotel successfully merges minimalist mid-century modernism with sustainable design. It draws on the Greek notion of “parea” (roughly meaning a group of friends gathered to share philosophies, values and ideas) and provides the perfect place to feel inspired.
The hotel’s over 100 spacious accomodations have earthy and organic feel, featuring concrete floors, natural timbers and handcrafted furniture. Each one comes with its own private terrace and natural rain shower. The hotel offers different types of accomodations such as bungalows and pavilions with additional living area, as well as a garden and plunge pool. The larger pavilions boast more spacious indoor and outdoor areas, including a garden with a private infinity pool. As a family friendly hotel, Domes Zeen Chania offers an innovative kids space such as a mini beach club and a private pool area.
The architectural and interior design project was developed by Berlin-based design studio Lambs and Lions in collaboration with Athens based K-Studio. For the interior design the team collaborated with Berlin-based Interior Stylist Annabell Kutucu, with whom the Casa Cook group have worked previously.
