This minimalist apartment, designed by Katty Schiebeck, is located in Barcelona, in the right Eixample district.
An apartment of 155m2 with a wide open space, uniting kitchen, dining, and lounge area. This approach, which enhances the light entering the main rooms of the apartment, offers a great functional space where the amplitude and brightness predominates. The purity of the materials and their textures as well as wooden flooring or in the textile upholstery and curtains add warmth to the space and the combination of all the elements creates an elegant and minimalistic interior in a strong European fashion style.
Katty Schiebeck, interior designer settled in Barcelona, is considered one of the youngest promises of the present interiorism. Her style combines a clear Scandinavian influence with the most characteristic contemporary spanish design. Simplicity and minimalism melt each other with classical pieces and the retrieval of architectural elements that she finds in the spaces where she develops her designs.
She explains that at the time of starting a new project she always looks for some unifying elements. The recovery of the modernist mosaics on the floors, the use of concrete walls in all the spaces or using an enclosure in the kitchen as a structural element and decorative one at the same time.
“I like to think in photos, all that that works in images, it must work in reality. I think that the fact of watching so many images every day, makes me be rigorous with the aesthetic result.”
