Casa Cook Kos, on the sun-kissed Greek isle of Kos, is the rustic chic sister of the Instagram & Pinterest star, Casa Cook Rhodes.
After Casa Cook Rhodes’ wildly successful debut last year, the creative director Remo Masala reunited Michael Schickinger of Berlin-based design agency Lambs and Lions, and interior designer Annabell Kutucu, to design the next property.
Local architectural firm ARC has housed the Grecian resort’s 100 rooms in a series of white-washed pavilions, the low height of the silhouette an ideal frame for the looming mountains and the white sanded beach and rolling dunes. In the main, the design favours outdoor living, whether the wall-less grass thatched communal pavilions or the shaded private porches, gratifyingly, a feature of all the rooms. The interiors are dressed in shades of grass, charcoal greys and hessian, and Coco-Mat mattresses, whilst the rough textures and polished concrete floors all conspire to encourage one to pad around shoeless and sport progressively darker shades of tan.
The food benefits from the devotion of both owner Gabriel Karathomas, and his chef to freshly farmed produce, all consumed in the Greek paréa or communal-style dining pavilion, while activities range from twice-daily yoga sessions and horse rides through the nearby salt lake, to long naps.
